If you’re reading this that means you care about what’s new in sports, culture, and internet stuff. Or you’re my mother (what up mom! đŸ‘‹đŸŸ). This week, we’re listening to women (literally), watching Top Class, loving all things TOGETHXR, scrolling through #AthletesOfTiKTok, and bustin out our brackets. Let’s get into it.

🎧 what’s playing: let me reset the room✹ One of the newest groups taking over Clubhouse is the Womxn In Sports Business club founded by 4 amazing women (Linsey Shea, Mariah Berry, Candace Kennya, & Eden Ghebresellassie). If you’re looking for a bomb group of boss ladiesđŸ”„ who are killing it in the sports industry and beyond — look no further. From the training room to the board room, sports background or not, this community is made up of women (and men) at all levels who are connecting, networking, and cheering each other on! 📣 The club currently meets Tuesdays, 10 am pt/1 pm et. Pull up, tune in and enjoy! 🔊

đŸ“ș what i’m watching: There’s the Lakers, the Clippers and then there’s the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers🏀. I just binged all of Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers and I have no regrets — noneđŸ‘đŸŸ. In this docuseries, UNINTERRUPTED follows one of the most notable high school basketball teams in the country, going far beyond the court to offer up an intimate look into the physical, social, and mental experiences of the team as they pursue a third straight state championship🏆. The six-part series touched on themes of mental health, loss, identity, and perseverance while demonstrating the range of pressures young athletes face. Oh and by the way — this just wasn’t any team. The Trailblazers had a pretty impressive roster, featuring the sons of NBA legends, several blue-chip prospects, and a formidable head coach (đŸ€Ż woah!) You too can binge-watch the series on IMDb, Amazon‘s premium free streaming service.

đŸ”„ what’s poppin: They got tired of waiting for someone to build it. So they did it. Together. TOGETHXR has successfully blown up on every channel of mine. I mean from Slack to Twitter to my LinkedIn feed — everybody is talking about it. The new media venture was founded by 4 female Olympians — soccer star Alex Morgan, snowboarder Chloe Kim, basketball player Sue Bird and swimmer Simone Manuel. TOGETHXR is a crossover between lifestyle, culture, and sport. According to the site, the platform was created to, “shatter the often narrow depictions of women in the media with content featuring a diverse and inclusive community of game-changers, culture-shapers, thought leaders and barrier breakers.” And they’re already getting started. TOGETHXR dropped a trailer for the upcoming documentary series Fenom, following 17-year-old champion boxer Chantel “Chicanita” Navarro as she sets her sights on the Olympics. WE STAN!đŸ„Š

📈what’s trending: Oh lawd they don found TikTok!đŸ˜©đŸ’€ The athletes have arrived! #AthletesOfTiKTok is officially trending with 145M+ views. It was only a matter of time before TikTok made a direct and concerted effort to engage athletes and teams directly. It looks like this hashtag challenge might have done the trick. The platform made a call to all athletes, “Whether you’re training for the big leagues, or working out at home, we want to see the #AthletesOfTikTok.” And the content didn’t disappoint. I’m sure this is only the beginning of TikTok’s plunge into sports-centric campaigns. Before you know it, your faves will be flooding you FYP. I’m not mad at it!đŸ’đŸŸâ€â™€ïž

👀what’s up next: Hey Siri — play March Madness x Future. Time to bust out your brackets. This year’s March Madness will be unlike any other. All games will be played in Indiana, with the First Four playing later this week. We’ll have to see who comes out on top. May the odds be in your favor fam 🙃
